Costume Contest – Friday Night Main Dance
As you know, we have a Star Wars theme this year. Come to our Friday Main Dance dressed as your favorite Star Wars character (any episode is fair game) and compete for fabulous – well, at least ecclectic – prizes! Contest will take place during the second band break (around 10:00 pm). Winners will be selected by the audience, and prizes will be given for crowd favorite and best duo.
Luke & Leia (Jack & Jill) Dance Contest – Saturday Day and Main Dance
Do you have what it takes to defeat your enemies with a randomly selected partner? Then, participate in our Luke & Leia Dance Contest! This is our Star Wars-themed version of the traditional Jack & Jill: sign up on your own and compete with randomly chosen partners to determine your true connection with the social dancing Force.
Preliminaries will take place at the end of the Saturday Day Dance (or immediately following) at the Harvey B. Gantt Center. Finalists will be posted at the beginning of the Saturday Main Dance at Chantilly Hall. Finalists will need to pick up their number at the front table when they arrive. Luke & Leia finals will take place during the second band break of the Saturday Main Dance (around 10:00 pm). Winners will be announced and awesome prizes (passes to regional dance events) will be awarded just before the end of the Saturday Main Dance.
To compete, sign up and pay $5.00 at the front registration table no later than 3:00 pm at the Saturday Day Dance.Full details coming soon…
Cookout! – Sunday afternoon before the Day Dance
On Sunday afternoon at 12:00, just before our last dance of the weekend, join us at Stumptown Park for a cookout! Grillmaster Kirk Eisenbeis will be heating it up! Get burgers or hot dogs, a bag of chips, and a drink for only $5!
The cookout is not included with the weekend pass. Sign up and pay by the end of the Saturday evening Main Dance.
Rain Plan: If it rains, it’s every Lindy Hopper for himself/herself for lunch. Refunds will be given at the Sunday Day Dance.
